Bio:

Liz was a respected scientist who was seconded to UNIT as scientific advisor, but soon came to play second fiddle to the newly regenerated, and exiled, third Doctor. Unlike the majority of other companions, Liz did not get to travel in the TARDIS due to the conditions of the Doctor’s exile. Liz left UNIT, possibly to indulge her undisclosed sweet tooth!

Additional Comments:

Liz must have made an impression on the Doctor as he christened his customised yellow roadster Betsy.
