Sarah Jane Smith was an investigative journalist who attempted to infiltrate a scientific conference whose members were being abducted through time by the stranded Sontaran Lynx. Sarah had strong feminist views, but was still able to scream with the best of them. Sarah was dumped by the Doctor when he was recalled to Gallifrey but she was later abducted by Borusa during The Five Doctors
