Bio:

Captain Mike Yates was attached to UNIT during the Doctor’s stint as resident scientific advisor. Displaying a knack for being subjected to mind control, Yates eventually turned traitor and was allowed to resign. However he then became involved in the attempt by the giant spiders of Metabilis 3 to invade Earth by possessing humans at a Bhuddist retreat – he was really unlucky in this way.
