Bio:

Jo was assigned by the Brigadier to replace the departed Liz as the Doctor’s assistant. However, Jo it was revealed only received her position with UNIT due to the string pulling of an influential relative. What Jo lacked in real skill however she more than made up for with enthusiasm; on her first meeting with the Doctor she saved his life by extinguishing a fire that had broken out on the equipment he was working on – a real pity as this was part of the Doctor’s experiment. Despite travelling the cosmos with the Doctor, Jo decided to leave UNIT and marry Professor Clifford Jones, who she met at a scientific commune in Wales.

Additional Comments:

Despite the many close shaves with Daleks, no companion has ever gotten quite so close as Jo.
